Can you beer me now?
In a story out of Australia, a man’s beer fridge in his back yard has taken out part of Telstra’s cellular network.
Technicians used directional antennas to find the source, which was an electrical spark caused by the beer fridge motor. It was enough of a large spike that it caused a blackout in the wireless spectrum that transmits voice and data information.
No action was taken against the owner but it makes me wonder: just how old that fridge is and how is it still running?
